The Embassy of the US is the new trusted partner of the community of Alma Vii and Mihai Eminescu Trust.  The restoration and reconversion project for the fortified church in Alma Vii “REVEAL Alma Vii – Redescoperiți Alma Vii” is creating a link between the Alma Vii community, Mihai Eminescu Trust and the American Embassy in Romania.  The financing of the project worth 500 000 US Dollars has been awarded to our foundation as a result of a competition ran by U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation.

On 25th of July 2019, at the ceremony of the handing of the cheque worth 500 000 US dollars, Mrs Caroline Fernolend, the president of Mihai Eminescu Trust declared the following: “It is a great day here in Alma Vii. Why Alma Vii? For Mihai Eminescu Trust partnership is the key. We believe in partnership. There is a partnership based on trust in this lovely community: the school, the Protestant Church, the Ministry of Culture and now, our new great partner, The Embassy of the United States of America in Bucharest. We do great things together .”

Talking about partnership, His Excellency the US Ambassador in Bucharest, Mr Hans Klemm had the following message for the community of Alma Vii: “From now on, you will not only find a partner in Mihai Eminescu Trust. The United States of America, the Congress and the American citizens are now long-term partners of the community of Alma Vii through this investment”. United States of America and our country have a successful partnership that started 135 years ago. At the base of this partnership are the common values shared by both countries. In 2011 both countries signed a “Common declaration for the strategic partnership for the 21st century between Romania and the United States of America”. Romania joined NATO in 2004 and has proven to be a trusted partner to both the US and NATO

Both Romania and US are allies in more international organizations like the United Nations, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, North Atlantic Council, Euro-Atlantic Council, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the World Trade Organization, etc.

On the US Embassy’s website you can find the following message from Mr. Hans Klemm: “Our common goals are to promote security, democracy and prosperity in both countries under the Strategic Partnership between US and Romania”
