Episode 7 of the “In-cluded. Ex-cluded. When a Syllable Decides Destiny” campaign presents the latest set of opportunities and challenges identified during our event on November 14th.
Leverageable opportunities include:
1. Positive examples of social integration among the Roma community.
2. Services and clubs designed for parents.
3. Transportation for social assistance beneficiaries and after-school programs.
4. Teaching new skills; for example, learning English is a particularly useful tool in social inclusion programs.
Identified challenges include:
1. Significant time required to file paperwork in social assistance situations.
2. Lack of a clear vision concerning specific steps needed to enact social inclusion programs in our area.
3. Community members opposing projects.
4. Sustainability of projects that conclude once funding runs out.
5. Identifying funding sources.
6. Challenges to bringing the community together.
What is your perspective on this, regardless of your vantage point?
Join our virtual brainstorming session, where we aim to identify 100 ideas for social inclusion, inspired by your individual experiences and endeavors. These ideas will be featured in a common guide for several NGOs and social inclusion initiatives. Note down your idea or ideas in an email to: contact@mihaieminescutrust.ro by November 29th, the end date of our campaign.
