The Apple Day play staged by the young participants of the MuziCArte Project in Mălâncrav on October 22nd received well-deserved applause after the young actors and their coordinators delivered a sensational live performance to a large audience. After a day filled with rehearsals and smiles, we wrapped up the event with a heartfelt “Goodbye!” and plans to meet again to put on another play in 2024, with the same sense of joy and enthusiasm. Under the guidance of their coordinators Ana Kingma Stamp, Mihai and Carmen Todor, and Mălina and Cinzia Coșorean, 25 children from four Transylvanian communities staged “Petrică in the Land of Wonders,” a musical in which the children accompanied the adventurous plot with music on the piano.
During the seven months between April and October, we brough multiple theater, music, and reading workshops to the communes of Moșna, Laslea, Mălâncrav, and the village of Archita. The MuziCArte program aspires to bring music, the arts, and books to marginalized communities, and was generously co-funded by AFCN.
